Sign Up for Chickens

It’s a hot summer. If you think it’s bad for us, just imagine what it must be like for the chickens KFC keeps in crowded sheds and breeds to grow so quickly that their bodies cannot bear their own weight. That isn’t even the worst of it – conscious chickens are debeaked, have their throats slit and are sometimes scalded to death, all without the use of painkillers. Fortunately, you can help put an end to this abuse. Not only is it easy to help out, but you’ll also earn great rewards. Simply join the petaDishoom Street Team and circulate our “Kentucky Fried Cruelty” petition in your neighbourhood or town or at your school or college.

All you need to do is download and print copies of the petition, and then follow these helpful tips for getting sign-ups. Be sure to get the names and e-mail addresses of everyone who signs the petition so that we can send them the monthly petaDishoom E-News. This way, they can learn how they may help animals too. You can also spread the word about KFC’s cruelty and your work with petaDishoom by contacting your campus newspaper representatives about writing a story on the petition. The more signatures you collect, the more likely your campus paper will be to publish the story (and the more prizes you get!) – just make sure you e-mail us at StreetTeamIndia@petaindia.org before you contact campus reps so that we can help.

We’ll forward your petition to KFC. Wait until you’ve collected all the sign-ups you can, because once you’ve turned them in, any new sheets you send us will be counted from zero. Don’t forget to include a cover sheet with your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. Why do we request all this info? So that we can send your prizes, of course! Prizes are based on the number of sign-ups you collect:

• PETA cap, pen and key chain for 300 sign-ups
• petaDishoom T-shirt, cap and key chain for 500 sign-ups
• Bumper surprise gift for 1,000 sign-ups

Keep in mind that cheaters will lose their chances of winning giveaways and their places on the Street Team!
