Animals Used for Experimentation
Countless monkeys, dogs, rats and other animals are burned, blinded, cut open, poisoned, starved and drugged behind closed laboratory doors every year for cockamamie reasons based on economics, convenience and old habit – not good science.
Read a shocking report about animal experimentation in India. The report describes how animals in Indian laboratories are driven so crazy that they mutilate themselves and how they are forced to live in filthy conditions and are left without veterinary care. It also describes painful procedures, such as drilling holes in the skulls of conscious sheep and placing live and conscious frogs in refrigerators in order to freeze them.
Forward-thinking companies now use sophisticated, non-animal research methods that are more accurate, less expensive and less time-consuming than traditional animal-based methods.
You can help by choosing cosmetics and household products that have been tested using superior, non-animal methods. See “Looking Good Cruelty-Free” for tips.
