Share PETA Videos on File-Sharing Programmes
We need your 21st-century skills to bring PETA videos to a whole new audience. We all know that getting people to watch video footage about animal rights issues is one of the most effective ways to get them to change. If names like Shareza, BitTorrent and Kazaa aren’t new to you, then this will be easy. If you think that these are the names of the last three kittens we saved, you have a little catching up to do, but we can walk you through this.
Shareza, BitTorrent and Kazaa (along with Poisoned, SoulSeek, xMule, Overnet and another 100 or so programmes) are file-sharing programmes that distribute unlicensed files. We don’t copyright any of our videos, factsheets or brochures, so it’s a match made in heaven. We want you to download our videos to a shared folder in one of these programmes so that people around the world will see what is going on behind the doors of slaughterhouses and reconsider their meat-eating and leather-wearing habits.
To download our videos, PC users should right-click on the video title and save it in their shared folder. Macintosh users can “Control-Click” on the video title and select “Save Linked File”.Drag the videos into the shared folder. Keep this in mind: The more videos you share, the more animals you can save.
Not convinced that people will download a video called “Chew on This”, “Meet Your Meat” or “Skin Trade”? You may be right. To get more views, change the names of your videos to something more appealing, such as the title of 50 Cent’s latest single.
Got questions about the file-sharing thing? Don’t ask us – we’re just animal rights activists. Track down a computer geek, and pick his or her oversized brain for technical assistance.
