'Month of Rock' iPod Giveaway
OK, anyone with ears knows that Parikrama, Indian Ocean, Pentagram, Euphoria, Metakix, Thermal and a Quarter, Vayu and ThemClones seriously rock. But did you know that all these bands also rock for animals?
In exclusive petaDishoom interviews, Parikrama's "Super Hero" Nitin Malik pounced on the chance to speak out against poaching, saying, "Please, lock me in a room with a poacher and give me an iron bar, and I will beat the hell out of him. We need to put an end to it. It's criminal", and Indian Ocean's drummer, Amit Kilam, was also more than happy to dive into discussions about animal welfare, confiding to us, "I am absolutely against cruelty to animals. … One of the ways of being in harmony with animals is to show respect to them. They also have life, and we need to care for them". Not to be outdone, Vishal Dadlani from Pentagram furociously defended animals, proclaiming, "It is sick when people kill animals for their skin", and Palash Sen from Euphoria said, "We should protect the creations of God in whichever form: animals, plants, trees, human beings …. It is very important for our future that everybody lives in harmony with each other".
Speaking of being in harmony with one another, both ThemClones and Vayu have gotten vocal about animals in exclusive petaDishoom interviews and helped spread the animal rights message by unfurling banners on stage. Opening up for Sepultura when they recently played in Delhi, metal band Metakix also opened up to us in an interview, in which bassist Nicky said, "Caging animals is the most gruesome and cowardly behaviour shown by humans".
